Peace Officers of California (P.O.C.) is proud to announce Paul Barty has joined P.O.C. as full-time General Manager.  He will be in charge of coordinating P.O.C. Board activities and running the day-to-day P.O.C. office in Sacramento.  Paul is a computer wiz and will be able to integrate membership information and support data along with union labor services.  Now you can expect professional, detailed, and published reports that you can’t get with CAUSE/CSLEA.  You can reach him at info@peaceofficers.org or pbarty@peaceofficers.org

Board Members through the bargaining process; along with PORAC legal defense P.O.C. will be an unbeatable team!

 

Paul Barty has over 30 years experience business management experience (US Resume, UK CV). He is outstanding in areas of strategic planning, organization development, team leadership and decision making and is an astute negotiator and problem-solver. Successful in intense and demanding environments experiencing rapid change through internal growth, acquisition and revitalization, Paul has strong general management, finance and budget skills which have over the years led to a number of positions including Chief Operating Officer and VP of Business Development. His strategies have enabled companies to continue growth from just a thought to  viable company.

 

 

Paul has worked in well known Fortune 100 companies and has held posts at ITOCHU Technology, Inc., Internet Pictures Inc., Cat Technology Inc., Toshiba (America) Electronic Components Inc., Silicon Graphics Computer Systems Inc., JP Morgan (on Wall Street, NY) and Sunquest Medical Systems Inc. Prior to arriving in the United States a over decade ago, Paul also held posts at the European Space Operations Center of the European Space Agency and Rio-Tinto Zinc, one of the worlds largest mining groups.

Paul holds a BSc Honors Degree in Geology from Cardiff University, Cardiff, Wales, U.K. and an OND (Ordinary National Diploma) in Math’s and Physics from Ewell County Technical College, Ewell, Surrey, England. He has also been a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS,) a Chartered Engineer of the British Computer Society (CEng,), an European Chartered Engineer (Eur Ing) of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

When P.O.C. represents the new peace officer bargaining unit meeting, minutes, and votes to expend union funds will be made public to members - including Political Action Committee (PAC) expenditures.  Members will receive release time (state paid time) to participate in union activities.
